In the summer of 2017 we gave up our 9-to-5 lives in London and Gothenburg to go chase a dream. Not really knowing what we were getting ourselves into, we moved to a little farm in the fjords of Norway, only knowing that we wanted to start something of our own.
Any Excuse to Ride Norway springs from our urge to get back to nature, but also from the love of the bike as a tool to explore. This is us sharing our favourite bits of Norway and its great outdoors with you. We genuinely love what we do and hope that that passion will shine through to give you an unforgettable MTB holiday.
The mountain goat from northern England. William loves a good hike-a-bike and has been on the hunt for the highest mountains and the gnarliest single track since he was a kid.
William is an architect and also has previous experience as a mountain bike guide.
Born and raised on the rugged Swedish west coast, Klara's first love was boats, sailing and the ocean. The mountain biking is a newly found but very strong passion.
Klara has a background in mechanical engineering and shipping.
Nora is the newest member of Any Excuse to Ride Norway, a sheep dog that didn't like sheep so she decided to give the trail dog life a try instead. She has only been chasing bikes since Christmas 2017 but is already the fastest on the trail.
Joe at Starling Cycles was enthusiastic about our project and was on board from the day we made contact. It means a lot for us to be supported by someone who knows what it is like to start your own business.
We have a pair of Starling Swoops, custom 27.5" steel frame bikes, which we use for all our guiding duties. They are perfect hard-wearing, low- maintenance frames with their single pivot design. Not to mention, they are also a ton of fun!
If you want to learn more about the Swoop then head to the Starling Cycles website, or read some of the rave reviews these bikes have received.
