So Martin (a friend from Argentina I used to work with) wanted to go for a ride as he got into mountain biking the year before after borrowing one of my bikes a couple of times and finally buying his own since he liked it so much.
We decided to take the train to Guildford and ride via a maze of little trails to Haslemere and get the train back from there, last time we came here it was absolutely tipping it down with rain and was super boggy but this time it was super sunny, dry and dusty! I had finally got my short stem for the Orange (my replacement bike while my Ibis was away getting fixed) so it was running nicely, pretty slack though.
The first few trails we rode were ones we had done before and were good fun, short but fast and rocky under the trees, however almost every other trail was super overgrown! Which made for some rather itchy and scratched legs! The trails in the woods right behind Haslemere were great though with even a few built parts, we spotted some other riders flying off down a trail and followed them through some jumps and berms.
Definitely a good day out, with the added bonus of some new shoes from a guy I met in a car park (pre organised online) at the other end, it was much longer than we expected however after we battled our way through all the overgrown paths so we sat for a good pint in the pub in Haslemere before heading off back on the train to London.
