Steve’s mate Sebastian arrived from Canada, seems he is a bit of a speed demon XC racer and because it’s farrrrr too cold in Montreal still he has come over for a few months to train and just generally ride some awesome trails in the alps. So I expect we will be riding a fair bit more with Seb on his clown wheel bike.
We just rode a little trail from about halfway up the ascent to St. Nizier on Le Vercors, its a fairly ‘british’ feeling trail actually, but yeah we did not go too far since Seb had just arrived the day before and was a bit jet-lagged still! Just a quick taster on the local trails, seems he is indeed a bit of a speed demon with them big wheels, keeping up with us no problem despite his steep angles on his XC bike, will have to take him on some steeper tighter tracks to test him.
Steve has no had a puncture for I don’t know how long but today he got his 2nd one in two rides, it is the new pump of his, its cursed… I have been quite lucky recently ‘touch wood’
After the ride I decided to strip down my bike and give it a good ol’ cleaning, since the next week was supposed to be sunny and I would be riding a lot I wanted to have a nice shiny bike to ride around and show off… plus it kinda needed it! So I stripped it down completely, even taking the frame to pieces which I have never done! Managed to find a few creaks and bit of play and eliminate them so it was worth it anyway and decided to put the blue bars and pedals back on well, just… because.
